OF PLANTS AND PLACE

May 26 - September 8, 2023

Solo show at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts

Of Plants and Place is a playful experiment in texture and natural color. With a deep love for the earth and natural materials, Sayde works at the intersections of plant-based color, textiles, and environmentalism. Sayde's evolving work in textiles and fibers seeks to create spaces to explore who we are as nurturers of the land and our communities.

We invite you to pause and consider the land and the communities that you inhabit. How are you participating in the nurturing of the plants and places in your life?

Sayde Laine Anderson is a fiber artist, community builder, and maker, working across disciplines to explore environmental and social issues through traditional craft techniques, based in Durham, North Carolina. Her work is inspired by rethinking the relationship between art, sustainability, and the land.
